Golden Dorado Derby, 1st Place | Nov. 9, 2024:
Southern Escapes fished the Golden Dorado Derby 2024 on November 9th at Marina Pez Vela in Quepos, Costa Rica – and we took first place for $64,500!
This one-day fishing tournament celebrates the vibrant dorado fishery of the Pacific waters. Teams compete to land the heaviest dorado, with prizes awarded for the top three heaviest catches. The event also features special awards for junior and female anglers, adding a family-friendly dimension to the competition. Optional jackpot categories allow participants to compete for additional cash prizes, including categories like the smallest qualifying dorado and a charity jackpot split between the winning team and local causes.
Summer Shootout, Biggest Fish | July 6, 2024:
The Reel Freedom crew fished the 2024 Summer Shootout on July 6th at Marina Pez Vela in Quepos, Costa Rica – and we won biggest fish with a 32.7 lb Tuna!
The 2024 Summer Shootout fishing tournament is a species-based competition with a variety of jackpots, including Most Species Points, Heaviest Dorado, Heaviest Grouper, and more. Anglers targeted species such as dorado, tuna, grouper, and wahoo, using IGFA-modified rules.
